October
5th - 5:00 till 10:00
Are you tired of the strip malls,
chain stores, and mediocre restaurants in the 'Burbs? Can't stand the thought
of spending another Friday night watching a second-run movie? Looking for
something to do?
Enjoy something different!
The South Warren Street area is staying open late and offering something special
for everyone. First Friday is a new cultural event in the Downtown District
of Trenton, held on the first Friday of each month, rain or shine. This "open
house" brings together city dwellers and suburbanites in a unique combination
of the visual, performing and culinary arts. There will be artists and antique
dealers lining South Warren Street offering something for the casual browser
as well as the astute buyer. The area restaurants offer a wide variety of
eating experiences from simple meals to elegant, fine dining. After dinner,
enjoy smooth jazz, a spoken word reading, or just relax and spend time with
friends in one of the Downtown bars.
September's First Friday event
was great - interesting art and antiques along South Warren Street, music
filling the air, and over 300 people enjoying themselves at the local bars
and restaurants. October's First Friday (on the 5th) promises to be even better
- with participation from even more artists, local merchants, a massage therapist,
great jazz, a poetry slam, and even a chance to tour the Marriott showroom!
Secure parking is offered in the
Trenton Commons Lot and bike cops will be on hand to help keep the event fun
and safe. Most of the festivities will be taking place between 4 and 10 pm.
